Jack Carnell, PhD, MSc, MBA, BSc, C.Eng, MICE, C.Env - Managing Director of South Staffordshire Water Plc
Appointed to the Board in 1997 and appointed as Managing Director in January 2004, following four years as Deputy Managing Director and three years as Supply Director. He has 35 years’ experience in the water industry with South Staffordshire Water, and is the National President of the Institution of Water Officers. Jack is also Chairman of the Water UK National Scrutiny Committee.
Rachel Barber, MBA - Director of Customer Operations.
Rachel was appointed to the Board in October 2009 and has over 19 years' water industry experience, joining the Company in 1990. She was previously Director of Customer Services and Director of Distribution and now undertakes the combined role as Customer Operations Director.
Matt Lewis, BA (Hons), MBA - Finance and Regulation Director
Matthew joined the Company in 1997 and has had a number of roles in the areas of regulation, distribution and customer services. Matthew was appointed to the Board in May 2009. His role as Finance and Regulation Director includes responsibility for the financial performance of the Company and for the relationship with the water industry regulator, Ofwat. Matthew is heavily involved in business planning, competition issues and compliance. Matthew has an economics degree, an MBA and has studied leadership at Harvard Business School.
Keith H Marshall, MBA - Supply Director
Appointed to Water Plc Board as Supply Director in September 2006, Keith had previously held the position of Supply & Resources Director from 2002. With over 36 years' experience in the water industry, Keith’s experience is predominantly in the field of production, ICA and energy management.
Elizabeth (Liz) Anne Swarbrick, PhD, BSc(Hons) - Asset Management Director
Appointed to the Water Plc Board in July 1997, Liz previously held the position of Quality and Planning Director and Regulation and Asset Management Director. She is responsible for overground asset management, capital investment management and delivery, procurement, asset information systems and business systems/IT. She is a chemist by profession and has over 20 years' experience in the water industry. Liz has represented the Company and the industry in a number of strategic Water UK groups with the Regulators, some of which she has chaired. She is currently the Midlands area President of the Institute of Water Officers.
Philip Saynor, BSc (Hons) ACMA - Director of Finance
Appointed as Financial Controller in June 2002 and appointed as Director of Finance in May 2004. Prior to joining South Staffordshire Water he spent eight years with Marconi based in Coventry. He is a Mathematics graduate of Loughborough University and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
Mike Turrell, PhD, BSc (Hons), CChem FRSC - Director of Water Quality
Mike has 30 years’ experience of the water industry. In 1980 he joined the Water Research Centre before moving to Anglian Water to complete his doctoral research into discoloured water supplies. He joined South Staffordshire Water in 1989 and was appointed Director of Water Quality five years ago. Mike also has responsibility for Health and Safety; Resilience (including Emergency & Business Continuity Planning and Security); and Facilities Maintenance.
Colin Wayper, BSc, CEng, MICE, MCIWEM - Director of Network Management
Colin has over 28 years' water industry experience, mainly associated with water distribution and asset management. He joined the Company in 2000 and was appointed Director of Network Management in 2008. He is responsible for underground asset management, network performance management, network engineering and hydraulic modelling and leakage management. Prior to joining the Company, Colin worked in a number of water companies in North East England, as well as at OFWAT and RPS Water Services.
