Out and About in the South Staffs Water Area.
In its Corporate Social Responsibility strategy the Company recognises that some of its sites offer excellent recreational potential.
With this in mind the Company actively supports a number of recreational user groups at its key sites. For example at Chelmarsh, sailors and anglers are able to enjoy the water of the reservoir for their chosen sport through membership of Chelmarsh Sailing Club or Bridgnorth Angling Society. Similarly at Blithfield Reservoir, recreational opportunities are managed through its user groups. For example Blithfield Anglers offers some of the best trout fishing in the country, Blithfield Sailing Club enables sailors to enjoy use of the picturesque southern lake, and members of the West Midlands Bird Club are able to observe a wide range of birds including rare visitors such as little egrets and osprey.
Other sites such as Crumpwood are frequented by anglers such as the Dove Valley Anglers Association that fish the River Churnet.
Areas around the Company's sites also include public footpaths such as the Staffordshire Way that attract interest groups such as the Abbots Bromley Footpath Society.
