The Company has long been a valued supporter of education, a fact that was demonstrated back in 1996 with the opening of the Company's purpose-designed Education Centre at Blithfield Reservoir in Staffordshire. The centre has just celebrated it's 10th birthday and in the last ten years has provided learning opportunities for thousands of children and adults, consistently receiving excellent feedback from visitors.
We work very closely with educational organisations such as our local Education Business Partnerships in order to offer learning and development opportunities to both children and teachers, providing professional development placements for teachers and work experience placements for students at our facilities, and providing members of our staff to support external initiatives such as practice interviews, engineering roadshows, business awareness activities, and project-based initiatives such as Young Enterprise.
The Company is committed to it's continuing support for education demonstrated in 2003 with the launch of its kids mini site on the Company's website. 2006 sees a major revision of the education section of the website with it migrating to www.blithfieldeducationcentre.co.uk.
This new site will serve as a fantastic learning tool for students and a very interesting resource for anyone wishing to know more about water and the environment.
