If your WaterSure application is successful, we will ensure that your annual water service charges do not exceed a set amount. For the financial year of 1st April, 2011 to 31st March, 2012, the maximum we will charge you is £277.14. Please note that we will apply the reduction to your account on a pro-rata basis taking into account the month we process your application.

  • If my bill is less than the maximum charge, what will I be expected to pay?
  • You will only pay for the amount you've used.
  • If I'm not currently on a meter, can I apply for WaterSure status?
  • You can't apply for WaterSure status until you have had a meter installed. If you wish to apply for a water meter, our metering section tells you how.
  • Which benefits qualify me for WaterSure status?
  • Please see the list above.
  • Which medical conditions are covered?
  • Please see the list above.
  • If my medical condition is not listed, can I still apply?
  • If you can provide confirmation from your GP that your condition requires you to use extra water, then this will be considered on receipt of your application.

Please note: you do not qualify for the scheme if you water your garden with a non-handheld appliance such as a sprinkler or domestic irrigation system, or if you have an auto-fill swimming pool, or a pond with a capacity of over 10,000 litres.
