Unmetered charges explained

Our charges are amongst the lowest in the country, giving you great value for money. If you don't have a water meter your bill will be worked out using the rateable value of the property.

While we don't provide sewerage services, we bill and collect charges for used water and surface water drainage on behalf of Severn Trent Water so that you only receive a single bill covering all your water services.

Here's how your charges are worked out:

Water charges
The water charge is a fixed charge, no matter how much water you use. To work this out we multiply the  unmetered water charge (a cost per £ of rateable value) by your property's rateable value (for example £275).

Used water charges

The sewerage charge is a fixed charge, no matter how much goes down the drain. To work this out we multiply the unmetered sewerage charge (a cost per £ of rateable value) by your property's rateable value (for example £275).

You'll need to know your Severn Trent charging zone to find the cost per £ of rateable value.

Severn Trent Water make a charge for collecting the rainwater that runs from properties into the sewer. It is called Surface water drainage and it's based on the rateable value of the property.
