We are committed to providing our customers with clean, fresh drinking water.
To help protect our water supplies, reduce leaks and bursts, and keep water flowing reliably for years to come, we are investing £84 million between 2025-2030 to renew water pipes in our network.
Between 2025-2030, we are replacing 250km of ageing pipework across our two supply regions (South Staffs and Cambridge), targeting areas of our network that have a history of bursting or leaking. This is the equivalent of replacing a pipeline from London to Manchester.
By replacing these parts of the network, the number of leaks will be reduced, water quality will be enhanced, and our water resources will be supported with less water being lost from the pipeline network. This means fewer interruptions to your supply and more water being saved for our environment
Our current schemes

Your safety is our top priority. We work closely with local authorities and highways to manage traffic safely during roadworks. This might include signs, traffic lights, and road closures.
We will always write to residents and businesses who might be affected by our work. These letters give specific information about what is planned.
How we’re delivering the scheme
We are working with two contractors, OnSite, part of South Staffordshire Plc, and Network Plus, to deliver schemes across the region.
All schemes are being carried out using specialist techniques, including directional drilling and slip lining to install new pipes, limiting our impact on local communities and the environment as best we can.
