Customers can avoid burst pipes this winter by coming to the “Give your home a HUG” event
As temperatures start to drop, South Staffs Water is helping customers to get winter-ready and prevent water pipes bursting by holding a “Give your home a HUG” event.
Customers are invited to the Community Hub in Wednesbury on 12 December between 11am and 1pm for advice on how to prepare their homes for winter, how to save energy, information on benefits and fire safety tips.
A limited number of free lagging kits will also be available on the day for customers to take away.
Other organisations giving advice at the event include Citizens Advice, Healthy Homes Sandwell and the Fire service.
Phil Newland, Managing Director at South Staffs Water, said:
“It’s really important that customers get prepared in case of freezing temperatures this winter. Burst pipes are not just inconvenient – having a cold water leak all over your home is expensive and can ruin treasured items. So we want to help by giving customers as much advice as we can.
“We also understand that winter can be a time when people struggle financially. The important thing to remember is that South Staffs Water – and many other organisations - are here to help. We have a number of initiatives in place to help make bills more affordable and to give extra help for those who need it, so please come to our Community Hub or get in touch.”
The “Give your home a hug” event is on Wednesday 12 December from 11am to 1pm at: South Staffs Water Community Hub, Unit 17 Union Street, Wednesbury, WS10 7HD
