Team members take on the Just Water challenge

Two members of the South Staffs Water team have taken on the #TeamJustWater challenge to raise money for WaterAid and give others the gift of clean water.

Elinor Cordiner and Christine Howles started the #TeamJustWater challenge at the beginning of January by getting sponsored to drink just water for the whole month; no tea, coffee, fruit juice, beer or wine.

The money they raise will help WaterAid provide clean water, decent toilets and hygiene knowledge to people who don’t yet have access to them.

Christine said: “When I heard about #TeamJustWater, I thought it would be a great way to raise money for WaterAid as well as being a huge challenge for me. I knew it was going to be hard but it’s been quite an eye-opener. I miss tea all the time, especially that first morning cuppa, but what keeps me going is the thought that 1 in 9 people don't have clean water close to home. The least I can do is miss out on tea for a month.”

Elinor said: “Now that l’m in the habit of drinking ‘just water’ I’m finding it easier, but I’m definitely missing my coffee more than anything. I’ve been through three distinct phases - the first few days when I did find it really tough and really missed my coffee and my wine, then I got used to it and started to feel the benefits so that was great. Now over half way through l’m coping fine but just bored with it!”

Christine and Elinor are doing a fantastic job for a great cause. If you would like to show your support and sponsor them, you can do so by following these links:
