Water Resources West launched
Posted: 27 October 2020
Water companies have joined forces to launch Water Resources West (WRW) to ensure the sustainability of water resources, taking into account societal needs and environmental impact.
WRW is one of five regional groups across England and Wales, bringing together local abstractors, their representatives and regulators and over the next three years WRW will be developing a cross-sector plan to ensure sustainable and resilient water supplies for the future.
“Never has there been a more important time to face up to the water supply challenges posed by climate change, economic growth, population increases and the pressures on our natural environment. We need to start making decisions about water efficiency, the development of new water sources and how we can better work together for a sustainable water strategy into the second half of this century and beyond.”
Dan Rogerson, independent chair of WRW.
