As part of its on-going improvement programme, South Staffs Water is carrying out work to renew the cast iron water mains in the Brickyard Road area of Aldridge.

The work, which will take place in two phases, will also involve replacing the pipes which connect the water mains the boundaries of individual properties.

Phase 1 is planned to start on Tuesday 1 November and will continue until Monday 19 December 2016. The water company will be working in 150 meter sections along:

• Northgate Way
• Brickyard Road (from Northgate Way to Stubbers Green Road)
• Beecham Close
• Empire Close
• Vigo Place
• Merchants Way

To complete this work as safely and efficiently as possible, a one way traffic system will be in operation in Brickyard Road between Northgate Way and Stubbers Green Road. Local diversions will be in place.

Motorists are advised to avoid the roads where possible, especially during peak times, and allow extra time for their journey. Assess to properties will be maintained at all times.

On Tuesday 3 January 2017 work on phase 2 will start from the canal bridge on Stubbers Green Road continuing along Leighswood Road as far as Middlemore Lane.

 This work is planned to be completed in early March 2017.

 Throughout phase 2 a one way traffic system will be place along Stubbers Green Road and Leighswood Road. Local diversions will be in place until the work is completed in March.

Bus routes will be affected during Phase 2, details of which will be made available nearer the time.
