PEBBLE fund open for applications
Our PEBBLE fund, ‘Projects that Explore Biodiversity Benefits in the Local Environment’, is now open to applications for any community groups or charities that want to encourage and enhance biodiversity.
Applications are invited for funding up to £10,000, from schools, youth groups, wildlife groups, charities or community organisations for any projects designed to improve, restore or create new habitats, and which benefit biodiversity, the environment and have a positive impact on the local community.
This is the sixth year of the PEBBLE fund and since it was launched over 42 hectares have been improved through these awards to support local projects in the South Staffs region.
"The past year has shown us all how important the outside environment can be for our health and wellbeing. More than ever we are keen to support local groups, which are working on projects to enhance biodiversity in their local area.
"By increasing the variety of natural living things, it not only benefits the planet, it also enhances local communities, our open spaces and everyone’s wellbeing. We want to hear from charities, community groups, schools and other organisations with their projects, which could be helped by a grant from our PEBBLE fund.”

Our PEBBLE fund has helped 34 projects, covering 42.7 hectares (or almost 43 rugby pitches) over five years. Previous projects have included habitat restoration, tree planting and the removal of non-native invasive species which destroy habitats for our native wildlife.
